Location
The map marks the Ruins of St. Paul’s, where our walk started. We finished at Senado Square.
The side streets were my favourite part of this walk. We started at St. Paul’s, browsed the lanes, and gradually made our way down toward Senado Square.
What was worth slowing down for
The facade at St. Paul’s looked bigger in person than I expected. It was crowded on our visit, so I stopped trying to frame a completely empty photograph.
Between the main sights, we browsed jerky and souvenir shops. Tasting a few varieties and choosing something for the hotel room was more enjoyable than hurrying straight to the square.
We also stopped for iced milk tea at a Vong Kei branch in the lanes. I had trouble finding that particular branch on my map, so I wouldn’t build a tight schedule around locating it.
Heat and walking
August was tiring on foot. Bring water, take breaks, and consider transport for the return rather than assuming every walk will feel short. We used a bus back toward our hotel.
