We split our Macau stay between the peninsula and Cotai. Artyzen Grand Lapa was our peninsula base, and the detail I remember most is the postcard waiting in the room.

When I opened the curtains, the roofs and trees outside looked like the scene on the card. It made an ordinary room detail feel personal.

The room

Our standard king room felt well kept, with a spacious bathroom and an open view. I liked the hotel’s quieter scale after the larger resort complexes.

Using it as a base

The hotel is beside Sands Macao. We walked toward the old-town sights on this trip, but the August heat made the walk tiring. Leave room for transport and breaks if you visit in hot weather.

Tin Fok and Suanlafen were two meals we had while staying on the peninsula. I’ve written separately about both.

We didn’t try the hotel breakfast or pool, so I can’t judge those. For another visit, I’d compare room rates and transport for the exact dates rather than rely on a fixed off-season price.
