An evening around Sadang and Isu.
An evening around Sadang and Isu.

These are places I return to near home: eight around Sadang and Isu, plus Saemgol in nearby Bangbae. Some work for dinner, others for a second stop. Use the dish and atmosphere to choose, then check the branch’s current hours.

A full meal

Namsanter (남산터): bacon budae jjigae, a shared Korean stew. The seasoning came separately on my visit, so we could adjust the whole pot gradually.

Yongyong Seonsaeng (용용선생): a shared volcano mala hot pot, ordered from the table’s QR menu. My photographed menu lists ₩24,900 for the pot and ₩3,000 for noodles.

Hoshi Ramen (호시라멘): tonkotsu or spicy tonkotsu in a small room with counter seats. I’d choose it for dinner alone or with one other person. It isn’t my late-night fallback.

A drink and a few dishes

Toriaez (토리아에즈): chicken skewers, garlic, ginkgo nuts and drinks. The small tables suit a second stop for one or two people. We ordered using a paper slip.

Apgujeong Dakgochi (압구정닭꼬치): chicken skewers and outdoor tables. I liked the soy-glazed skewers and the old Korean pop; outdoor seats can fill up.

Charcoal and richer flavours

Golmokjip (골목집): grilled beef offal with soft tofu stew. My notes list the mixed platter at ₩26,000 per person, before drinks and extras. Ask about upstairs seating if the ground floor is full.

Yajupocha (야주포차): charcoal-grilled webfoot octopus. The roe-filled version was my reason to visit, so confirm availability if that’s what you want too.

Saemgol (샘골): charcoal-grilled makchang in Bangbae. I liked its rich dipping sauce. Check the exact map pin rather than assuming it is beside Bangbae Station.

Before heading out

Use Sadang or Isu Station as a starting point, then follow the individual restaurant’s location. Closing days, last orders and payment methods vary. The prices above are visit records, not a current quote.
